SPCA is New Zealand’s leading animal welfare organisation, with over 150 years of experience working across Aotearoa to protect more than 55,000 animals every year by advancing animal welfare and preventing cruelty. Our nationwide network of more than 90 Op Shops raises vital funds to support our work, with each store typically run by one or two staff members alongside a dedicated team of volunteers. Across our retail network, more than 1,800 volunteers contribute their time and skills across everything from sorting and pricing donations to merchandising and customer service. Our Op Shops provide a welcoming, community-focused environment where volunteers can build practical retail skills, gain customer service, connect with their local community and make a meaningful difference for animals in need.
